That old saying sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me is a lie. Words hold the power to hurt hearts and destroy lives. The enemy is a master at placing word curses on our lips in an attempt to steal other’s destinies. He is skilled at whispering in our ears and his hurtful words spewed forth out of our mouths. He doesn’t discriminate. He places those hurtful words in the mouths of the saved and unsaved alike. They are often more hurtful when they come from “saved” folks because the person being attacked tends to think that come come from a child of God. This is where renewing your mind daily is so crucial. When we renew our minds we give the enemy less of a chance to use us and when attacked verbally we can discern where it is actually coming from and the dart doesn’t do as much damage. I’ve been on the receiving end of both. Forgive me Lord and help me, help all of us, to just do better. I never want to speak a word curse over anyone or have it spoken over me or someone I care about. Words hold power, so much power that in today’s verse death is mentioned before life. What are you speaking over your own life and the life of others, death or life? It truly matters. 🦅 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” ~ Proverbs 18:21
