I was looking for a Scripture for today when God led me to today’s passage. My heart leaped at the first sentence, “Abide in Me, and I in you.” Jesus loves us so much, He gave His life so that we could abide in Him and He us. He never leaves or forsakes, but too often we forsake Him. Even then, He welcomes us back with open arms. He already knew every misstep we’d ever make in life, yet He loves us still. He is THE vine and we are the branches, we need Him every minute of every hour. Staying connected to the vine produces much fruit, but it also strengthens and sustains us.
