Our joy is not in things or people of this world. Those things can discourage you and those people can let you down. Our happiness, our joy is found in our Lord. He never lets us down. He never leaves or forsakes us. With Him we can go through the hardest of things, storms can be all around us, but we can still have the joy of the Lord within us. He is our peace, our happiness should center around Him. During hard times we can encourage ourselves in Him. We can literally pray ourselves right into the joy of the Lord. Your prayer language is one of your biggest helps in this. Even if it starts with a murmur, even if it is just saying Jesus, Jesus, Jesus over and over. God hears our heart. He is an awesome God. Praise is your other weapon. Sing unto the Lord and your joyful heart will be lifted. Having down moments is natural, but we don’t stay there.
