Meek here means humble, gentle, lowly. The Lord lifts up these people. Wicked means morally wrong, an actively bad person, ungodly. Today’s passage tells us the Lord casteth down these people. We live in a world of wickedness, a world where you see darkness in every place you look. The end is drawing nigh. I want to be found and seen as humble in spirit. I want God’s light to shine out from me so bright my very countenance changes. It is important to ask ourselves which type of person are we looking at in the mirror?
