A friend posted today’s passage not too long ago. I sat and pondered it this morning. Jesus is coming back soon. Now is the time to not get ready but be ready. There are a lot of people who think they are saved and yet they walk with the ungodly. God says we are a peculiar people, set apart. We are not called to walk with the ungodly and agree or participate in ungodly things. We are called to be a light to the world, to be an example that draws others to Him. We are to plant His seeds in the heart of others. We are not called to fit in and follow the ways of the world. If the Bible calls it wrong, it is wrong. If the Bible calls it sin, it is sin. No law can overturn it. We can’t say His words no longer apply to these times, things are different now. That is a lie from devil deceiving millions of people and many of those people are “church” people. God is coming back for a spotless church, not one full of blemishes.
Matthew 7:13 tells us, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:” A lot of people are path of that wide gate thinking they are on the straight gate (Matthew 6:14, “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”) We are told that gate is straight and narrow. Now is the time to examine your heart and repent of anything ungodly. It could be beliefs that align with the world and against God’s, it could be addictions to drugs, pornography, lust, etc. It includes anything that is wrong in God’s eyes. It is time to not only repent but turn away from those things. It is true Jesus came to save us but that doesn’t give us a free pass to make a decision to sin and then ask for forgiveness. Who the Son makes free is free indeed. That doesn’t mean we will not mess up. We repent and ask God to help us in the area of that sin and to not to repeat its cycle. God doesn’t wish any would parish but we serve a Holy God and sin cannot rule us or abide in us as His children, 💕 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
