Nourishment for Your Spirit, Soul, & Mind: 1/18/25

I was looking through my pictures and found this one of Esther Grace (Gracie) from yesterday. She was sound a sleep on my lap while I was talking to my mom. She is sound asleep beside me again right now, not a care in the world. She has her mommy, her sissy, full food and water bowls, and lots of toys. She feels safe and is completely content and full of peace. She has no worries weighing her down.

Today’s passage reminds us that our Father gives us strength and blesses us with peace. Are you like Gracie, content and full of peace? Yes? Praise the Lord! No? What is weighing you down? I get it. We are hit with so many things including sickness, financial worries, and too many things to list. Maybe you need a job or your marriage is falling apart. Perhaps you are trying to figure out how to buy food for your kids. You may even be reading this as you contemplate suicide. I do not know what is weighing you down, but I do know the One who can carry your worries for you so that you can sleep like Gracie. His name is Jesus. He is God’s only son and He took the form of man to die a horrible, painful death on the cross at Calvary so that we could have life. Jesus died so that we could have life more abundantly. We were not meant to live a life of worry, pain, or even regret or a life barely hanging on day to day.

Friends, whatever is troubling you, give it to Jesus. There is nothing we can go through that He has not already seen. There is nothing we can do that He won’t forgive. There is nothing we face that He can’t handle. Stop trying to carry it all on your shoulders. Tell Him every single thing that is weighing you down. Ask for His help, ask Him for solutions. Allow Him to lift the burden from you and His peace to overtake you. The storm may not just go away, but you will be equipped with the peace and strength to endure it. When you truly relinquish those things you Jesus and allow His peace to fill every part of your life, you too will sleep like my Gracie. 🦅 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
