Fear is “dread, timid that is by implication faithless/ fearful.” Fear is a sin against God because it shows a lack in faith. Today’s passage says we are NOT given a spirit of fear. It goes on to say we are given power (power over that fear!), and love, and s sound mind. That last part is critical. The devil will try to take your peace. He will do anything he can to inflict damage to that sound mind. But God!!! A sound mind is our portion and we need to be proactive in protecting it from the enemy. We need to renew our mind daily, lean hard into God, and put our armor on daily. The devil may be out to steal our peace but we do not have to let him take it.
