I’ve had today’s passage by my desk for a week. I reread it today. God has been speaking to me about faith. My writing desk is surrounded by little faith reminders. Faith is an action word. I learn that more and more each day. The part of today’s passage that peaked my attention was, “19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” The world is full of people that believe in God, but they don’t know Him. They believe much like the devil but don’t really know God. They don’t read His Word and follow Him in all of His ways. There is a superficial belief where they go through motions but have no real emotion. There is no faith, there is knowledge and a facade that your actions don’t match. You are one person at church and a completely different person in private or the business you own. The path to hell is wide while the path to heaven is narrow. Many people will go before God who think they are entering heaven when they here depart from me. That is incredibly heartbreaking. Time here on earth is short. Now is the time to get it right with God. Our life here is not promised. Search your heart, stay before God in prayer. Allow Him to search your heart and show you anything that needs changed, anything that keeps you from a relationship with Him.
