Nourishment for Your Spirit, Soul, & Mind: 3/8/25

I went to pick up my new glasses today. They were in the county next to ours so it’s a peaceful little drive. My grandma and I were noticing how many churches were all long the road. As we drove by one I heard the Lord say, Come all ye who are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Laden is “Loaded; charged with a burden or freight; oppressed; burdened.” I thought about this as I watched the scenery on our route. How many of God’s children are heavy laden? Can I be honest, can we all have a moment of self reflection and be honest?

I have prayed so many times lately, Poppa I’m weary. I’m just weary. I look around at this trailer that God has placed me in for this moment in time so often with tears running down my face and say really Poppa, how long? What am I doing wrong? What do I need to let go or repent of? He says make it a home for this season. Things that used to be easy are getting hard and I find myself saying, Poppa am I just getting too old for this? As I reflected on these times, I realized I am heavy laden. These burdens I carry, I need to release all of them to Him. God was quick to give me the specific word “release. To release is “to set free from restraint, confinement, or servitude; to relieve from something that confines, burdens, or oppresses.” To give is, “freely transfer the possession of (something) to (someone); hand over to.” I am to release these things to God. By releasing them, I am being relieved of those burdens that are weighing me down.

Am I speaking to someone reading this? There are burdens in this life we weren’t meant to be weighed down by. Jesus says come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Glory hallelujah brothers and sisters. So many of us are heavy laden. It’s time to release those burdens to God and then what happens? He will give you rest. It is as simple as it sounds. He will give you rest. We must do our part by releasing those things weighing us down to Him and He will most certainly do His. I’m ready for some God given rest, how about y’all? 🦅 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
