My Poppa has been pouring little tidbit’s of reminders that are magnified as not so little when I read and pray into them. Today’s passage is a big one. What we carry in our hearts matters. Today’s passage heeds us to keep our heart with all diligence. Why? It tells us out of it [our hearts] are the issues of life. This is huge.
You can’t harbor unforgiveness in your heart when we have a God that washed away our sins through the blood of His only son Jesus. You can’t secretly look at porn one minute and ask who needs prayer the next. You can’t cheat on your spouse one day and praise God in church the next. These things are rooted in your heart and God sees them.
He also reminded me the importance of renewing our mind. What are you meditating on? What are you watching that fills your spirit man? Are you feeding it or vexing the Holy Spirit that lives within you? These thoughts start to take root in your heart. These are important things to keep in mind. What you allow your eye gates to see (from tv to the computer), those thoughts in the midnight hour, those inappropriate text you send. God sees it all and He knows your heart.
Brothers and sisters, time is fleeting. We do not know when Christ will return, but He is coming soon. Not only that, tomorrow isn’t promised. We must clean our hearts up today. Purge out anything ungodly, anything unholy, anything a child of God should not harbor. Repent and turn from anything that makes your pure heart speckled with dirt. I’ve said it so many times before, tomorrow may never come. I urge you to get right today. 🦅 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
