This morning I took the dogs out and didn’t take my phone. I went back in and got it. The sky was full of what I call bubble clouds, one of my favorite. As I took pictures, I heard God say precept upon precept. Every time I turned to these clouds that looked stacked, I heard the same precepts upon precepts. I knew He had given me my blog Scripture for the day.
I came in and looked up today’s familiar passage. Precept is, “Any commandment, instruction, or order intended as a rule of action or conduct; especially, a practical rule guiding behavior, technique, etc.” In the scriptures the word which is translated “Precept” is a general term for the responsibility God places upon His people.” The Lord gave His instructions clearly and completely. Precept upon precept and line upon line but it was heard as stammering lips, another tongue. Paul speaks of verse 11 in 1 Corinthians 14:21-22. In verse 22 of this passage Paul says, “Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.” I sat awhile taking in what I had read. I still heard precept upon precept deep in my spirit.
God is giving His Word, pouring out His Spirit but only the hungry are being fed. So many go through the motions, reading but not listening to the instruction being given. Precept upon precept, line upon line. He’s speaking but are you listening or do you hear stammering? My heart breaks for those who have a form of godliness but denying the powers thereof (2 Timothy 3:5). Precept upon precept. Our time on earth is fleeting. Now is the time to get hearts and minds right with God. Now is the time to listen and hear His voice. Seek Him and you will find Him. Seek Him friends. Seek Him. 🦅 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
“9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? [them that are] weaned from the milk, [and] drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.” ~ Isaiah 28:9-11
