God has been speaking to me about putting on His armour daily. The devil knows his time on earth is coming to an end. He has engaged in a battle that can only be fought in the spiritual realm. His demons are out strong and in full force. Today’s passage reminds us we must put on the whole, the entire, the complete armour of God so that we can withstand the “wiles” of the devil. Wiles are “cunning strategies or deceitful tactics used to manipulate or deceive, often associated with the devil’s schemes to ensnare believers.” Many if not most God’s children are feeling those attacks even as I write this.
We are then told clearly, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. We are not fighting forces that can be combatted with earthly weapons, guns, knives, and such. These things have to be fought on a spiritual realm. They have manifest here on earth and children of God must equip themselves for this very real battle.
Verse 13 is clear, we need the whole (second time whole is used in these three verses, impressing its importance to the reader). We need this armour so that we will be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. What is the whole armour you might ask? I’m glad you did. I am going to be breaking it down piece by piece over the next several days. It is extremely important to have the whole armour so the Lord has instructed me to break it down in bite size pieces. Join me in the coming days to explore and understand the whole armour of God. 🦅 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
“11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” ~ Ephesians 6:11-13
