Nourishment for Your Spirit and Soul: April 10, 2025

Today’s passage is deep. I’ve been reflecting on the once saved always doctrine. So many people believe this to be true. Today’s passage is really clear. It says, “9 Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.” Verse 9 tells us not to be deceived and gives a list of things that will keep us from inheriting the Kingdom of God.

Many might say, yes but verse 11 says we were washed clean in Jesus. This is true, His blood cleanses a multitude of sins. However, you become sanctified through Jesus and no longer do the things you were doing while drenched in sin. You pray daily for the Holy Spirit to renew your mind. You start to see what you watch, what you listen to, where you go to change. Even your group of friends will likely change because you change. Old things must pass away. You are a new creation in Christ.

I urge you to take these Scriptures to the cross and ask for God to give you eyes that see and ears to hear what says the Lord. Running with the crowd and continuing in sin will not get you into heaven. Righteous living through God, more of Him and less of you. Your flesh has to die. That can be a painful process but when it leads you to the gifts our Father has on the other side it is well worth letting go. I must decrease so that my Father can increase.
