Nourishment for Your Spirit and Soul: June 4, 2025

Today’s passage reminds of three very important things in our walk with God. First, we are to rejoice in hope. Why are you cast down o daughter (Psalm 42:11)? God holds our future and He already knows every single detail about it. He goes before us and makes crooked ways straight (Isaiah 45:2). We are to rejoice even through affliction because our hope rest in God who will meet exceedingly abundant above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20)

Second, we are instructed to be patient in tribulation. For me, this is only done by leaning hard into God. Patience is a virtue many of us lack. I had someone tell me they do not pray for patience. This is because to receive that you go through the burning fire to refine you and burn away anything not of God. This isn’t an easy process, but God never leaves you alone through it. He also knows when the purifying flames are too hot. He knows when yo pull you from the fire. Father God, help us all in the area of patience in Jesus name.

Finally, we are instructed to continue in constant prayer. I am working on this myself. I find myself praying throughout the day. I find myself taking to my Father in about all that I do. I do not want to miss His voice or s vision He has for me. Prayer also gives comfort and strength when we find ourselves struggling. Prayer is an essential part of the Christian life.

I pray you reflect on today’s passage and ask God to show you what area or areas you need strengthened. Don’t be afraid to take them to the Lord in prayer and ask for His help. We need that refining process to burn away thing that keep us from His presence. Refining is necessary, but remember He never leaves your side and will not put more on you then you can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13).
