I have read today’s passage many times and often wondered why the old prophet lied to the man of God. As I read it this time, God began to show me things that I needed reminded of for this time in my life. God told me in this season, I need to try the spirits. It’s critical to try the spirits. Just because someone has a title doesn’t mean they are walking with the Holy Spirit. It doesn’t mean they are hearing from God. This old Prophet lied to the man of God and it cost him his life.
If God gives you a word, He is not going to send someone behind that word to give you a “prophecy” that directly contradicts what God originally gave you. This man of God didn’t even take a moment to pray and seek God’s council. He just blindly took the old prophets word for it and went and did what God had told him not to. This ended in his death.
This hit very close to home for me. God gave me three visions that would have resulted in my death had I not heeded His warning. I listened because I knew exactly what God had showed me and what He had told me. Someone tried to twist those words to make me believe I had misunderstood the visions. I did not, they were clear and my conversation with God made them even clearer.
Brothers and sisters, listen to the Lord when He speaks. Lean into Him when He gives you visions or dreams. If anyone tries to sway you, seek God. 1 John 4:1 tells us not to believe every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Don’t be afraid to try those spirits. God will reveal what or who is real and what or who is not. In this time, with the return of Jesus so close it is more important than ever to try the spirits. 🦅 ~ Prophetess Michelle, #f8ithgal
“15 Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread. 16 And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place: 17 For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest. 18 He said unto him, I [am] a prophet also as thou [art]; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. [But] he lied unto him.” ~ 1 Kings 13:15-18
