Let’s talk forgiveness. In the world, you often hear I’ll forgive but I don’t forget. When Jesus forgives He forgives completely. Our sins are washed away. He doesn’t forgive and then tell us but I won’t forget. No, His blood makes us whole and our sins are remembered no more.
It is a slippery slope to say I forgive but I won’t forget. We must truly forgive that offense to be set free. Yes, any unforgiveness bounds us and that is the exact place the enemy wants us. There are times we need to be mindful of situations so that we do not fall into them again. An example of this is an abusive relationship that has caused significant trauma. We can truly forgive the person, but be cautious of the situation so that we do not become ensnared into it again. It doesn’t mean we are dwelling on the offense. It simply means we will not allow the enemy to put us into that dark place again. We need go before God to search our heart and make sure we are forgiving completely and not holding on to any offense.
God has really been speaking to me about forgiveness lately. When I went through my divorce I felt completely abandoned by a group of people that I had been told were my people. I had no car to get to church. I felt completely cut off and somewhat shamed by these people I thought were my people. During that time only a couple of them checked on me and this divorce was hard on me. I am so thankful for my family and my prophetic family from all over the world. It was them that held me up. Even now when I see them, there are only a few that greet me with the love of Christ. God began speaking to me about forgiveness and letting this go. I have Poppa. Have you daughter?
I began to reflect on the situations and encounters with them since. I was still very hurt. That hurt caused me not to forgive as I should. Oh Poppa! Heal my heart and help me to truly forgive and let the pain go. Help me to forgive and not say but I won’t forget. No, help me to forgive and say I remember those actions no more. I’m going to love them with the love of Jesus, period. Brothers and sisters, take time to seek God and search your hearts for any unforgiveness. It blocks breakthrough, it blocks destiny’s… this forgiveness is just as much for you. Forgive and allow the love of Jesus to shower through you. 🦅 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
