Yesterday we talked about faith. Today our focus is on prayer. What does your prayer life look like? Is it a brief prayer to start your day, maybe blessings over your food, and/ or a prayer as you are falling asleep? God has been calling me into a higher place of prayer. This isn’t a place where I rattle a list of needs. No, it is one where I sit in the presence of God and we commune together. He responds to my prayer and we have an actual conversation. I’m not crazy, God desires a two way conversation with us. As you draw closer to Him, you will start to hear Him speak, it could be to your heart, through Scripture, even the clouds. He speaks to me a lot through the sky.
It is not enough to utter quick prayers and go on about our day. Today’s passage tells to pray without ceasing. This is a place of continual prayer. Many are asking how that is even possible. I find myself praying while I work. He will drop someone in my spirit and I pray. My mind is continually focused on Him, it makes prayer flow seemingly easy from my lips. It’s time for a heart check. What does your prayer life look like. Today is a good day to set aside time where you sit in our Father’s presence and give Him all of your attention. You pray and listen for His voice.
