Today’s passage compares our life as a mere vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Yesterday a precious man of God, Brother (Evangelist) Jimmy Swaggart, passed away. He had lived his life under scrutiny for acts God had forgiven and delivered him from. Still, news outlets had to throw that in there as they announced his death. He had prepared his heart to leave this world and was headed home. I also saw where Christian rapper Joe Nester passed away. I sat back in disbelief. I knew Brother Swaggart was passing away, his family had been giving updates. But Joe Nester, that took me by surprise.
For those saved and have a heart ready, this world is not our home. Heaven awaits us when our time here in earth is done. For the lost, sadly, this world is not your home either. A lake of fire awaits, one you can never escape. People often put off giving their life to God, life is a vapor. Tomorrow may never come to make that life changing decision that will save your soul from utter destruction. For those who have fallen away, it’s time to come back to God.
