It is Independence Day, 4th of July, here in the United States. I am thankful to be in a country where I can read and study the Word of God openly. I can share content about my faith journey. However, more and more of anything that pertains to God is coming under great scrutiny. Many Christians (including myself) are having post removed on Facebook because they violate community standards. I can no longer share the link to this blog there, after sharing it for years. I have to copy and paste it into a post. A woman on Nextdoor actually told me to stop posting there. I have not. I thought about all of these freedoms that are being infringed upon. You know what post are not under scrutiny? Things from the enemy.
Today’s passage was brought to my mind as I thought on these things. Post can be removed, they can put us in FB jail, they can silence our videos, cut into our lives. They can infringe on our constitutional rights and pass laws that protect the wicked. But do you know what they can’t take away? Our freedom in Jesus.
Jesus was persecuted and shamed. Can we not expect the same for ourselves? The devil doesn’t attack his own. No, he goes after those that are anointed for a time such as this. He goes after those that are a threat to his kingdom, those with Kingdom destinies and shining the light of God and winning souls.
On this Independence Day, I am thankful for my freedoms, but I am most thankful to have been set free. I’m thankful that in a country that has largely turned their backs on God I am rooted to the vine. Jesus has set me free and I’m free indeed. 🦅 ~ Prophetess Michelle, #f8ithgal
