Nourishment for Your Spirit and Soul: July 5, 2025

Today’s verse is a subject that has weighed on my mind heavily over the last several weeks, even months. A brother in Christ sent a devotional to me with today’s passage as the verse. It was confirmation in my spirit. Our God is Holy and He has called us to be holy in all manner of conversation and to be Holy for He is holy. This is a deep passage. One might argue, we are only human. How can we then be holy? We are holy through the blood of Christ and Holy Spirit that lives within us

We are in this world, but not of this world. We are different, called apart, a peculiar people. We don’t do the things the world does because it’s popular. We don’t follow after things that are ungodly. We don’t listen to music that will vex the Holy Spirit within us. And we don’t, this one is huge, take part in conversations that grieve the heart of God. Be ye holy. We can’t bend, we can’t give a little here and there a little. Come out from amongst the world and be ye holy.

We should not be sitting in a group and gossiping about the ones around us. We should be lifting each other up in prayer, not spitting out arrows against our fellow brethren or anyone else. Prayer should be our first reaction to things we hear. Jesus sat among sinners, how many would sit and point fingers at Him. You wouldn’t because you know He is Lord? Why then would you do it to His children or anyone else.

So many have wounds that run deep from the church. It’s hard enough to go through difficult things but to be ostracized by the very people you thought would love you with the love and heart of Jesus causes a hurt that ought not ever happen. God sees all hurts including those adding weight to the shoulders of others. He sees what is done in love and what is done that causes pain and often done so using His name. We have to do better. No one should ever have a wound that has to heal from a group of people who are “woke” and serving the Lord. Yes, we must do better. 🦅 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
