When you have lived with a narcissist and survived, today’s verse hits a little differently. I’m working on a writing piece and wow. So many memories have come flooding in as work my way through it. The nights I cried out to God, are You there Poppa? Do You see me? Help me, I’m drowning. He heard every prayer, He caught every tear. At times, I prayed for my husband to change. Other times I prayed that God help me see through the lies. I didn’t realize all of this pain was birthing purpose. The manipulation, the cheating it was all things I had to experience before I could help those the Lord would be placing in my path.
Did the Lord want me to experience that pain? Of course not, but He turns everything around for our good. You cannot truly tell someone you understand if you have not been where they are. I look back at some of my poor choices in men. So many heartbreaks, but so much learned about narcissists . Finally, God would remove the blinders from my eyes and show me how to get out permanently, never to fall under the manipulation of a narcissist again. That knowledge has given me a heart for women caught in the snares of narcissistic abuse. The Lord heard me in my time of trouble and He delivered me from my distress.
