Today’s passage is a word for now. I pray daily for me to die to self and increase in Christ. I ask for forgiveness of any known and unknown sins and to be washed clean by the blood of Jesus. Why do I do this? We do not know the day or hour Jesus will return and I do not want to be caught with oil not in my lamp. We do not know when we will be called from this earth and I want my heart to be ready should tomorrow never come. Once saved always saved is one of the biggest lies the devil has convinced the body of Christ to believe.
The Bible tells us the path to hell is wide while the path to heaven is narrow. It also tells us in Matthew 7:22-23, “22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Many are just sure they are going to heaven and will miss the mark. Dear Father God, never let that be me! Seek God daily. Repent daily. Renew your mind daily. We are human, not at all perfect. That makes it so important to pray without ceasing.
