I look at my Gracie and just smile. When my uncle first gave her to me I was not so sure. April can be very jealous. She’s older now and set in her ways, a lot like me. This little puppy came in and stole both of our hearts. If she hears me crying she comes flying onto my lap, licking my tears. I can almost hear her, it’s okay mom, I’m here. God knew we needed her before we did. *** smiles ***
God is like that. He knows what we need before we do. When we take something to Him, He already knows the need but it makes His heart smile that we bring it to Him. We should be taking everything to Him, the good, the bad, and, yes, even the ugly. He wants to be involved in every single part of our lives.
Don’t be like those who ramble the same prayers or those that pray just when they have a need. God wants a close relationship filled with two-way conversations. Yes, you heard me correctly. He wants two-way conversations. If you seek God with your whole heart and you sit in His presence, you can hear Him speak back to you. You may hear Him speaking to your heart, He may show you something in nature. He speaks to me a lot through the sky. I even see angels.
God wants a close and personal relationship with you. He doesn’t just speak to His prophets, He wants to speak to you personally. Start spending time with Him and intentionally listen for Him to respond.
