I cannot imagine the request our Father hears every day, all day into the nights. He’s such a good Father who wants the best for His children. Many become bitter when their prayers are not answered, but God doesn’t make mistakes. His ways are higher than ours and He sees things we do not.
The key to today’s passage is asking in accordance with His will. When our hearts align with His we are going to want the things He wants and He will take joy in giving us those things. Someone may be asking for a million dollars, but God knows that million dollars could cost them their soul.
I was reflecting on asking according to God’s will. We need to be seeking Him. We need to have a such a desire to synch our hearts with His that we are continually drawing closer and closer to Him. Do you hear Him when you pray? Yes, you the one reading this. Do you hear Him when you pray? You do not have to be a prophet to hear God speak. He is speaking constantly. He speaks through nature, Scripture, other people, even Facebook post. The question is, do you hear Him? We are just asking amiss if we can’t hear our Father.
Take time each day to not only pray but listen for His response. Our Father longs for a two way conversation and He longs to have them often. How do you feel when someone only reaches out to you because they need something? Its hurtful. Can you imagine our Father when countless people only call out when they need something.
