Today’s passage says a lot. We live in a world that professes their love for God, but their actions are from Him, a world that only comes before His throne when they need something, a world that has a Bible they never or rarely ever open. We cannot have one foot in the world and foot in the church. Our God is a jealous God. It’s all or nothing with Him. Yes, we have grace and mercy but it’s not a free ticket to sin willfully. The Holy Spirit will convict your heart for so long before giving you over to a reprobate mind, this comes when we reject God and His knowledge. God help us.
God’s Word says the path to hell is wide and that to heaven is narrow. A lot of people think they are on that narrow path that aren’t. The devil has them under a fog of deception. God tells us to submit ourselves to God. We are to resist the devil and he will flee. This doesn’t happen once and you’re done. You continue to resist him through every attack that he hurls.
Finally, draw night God- daily! Repent daily to cleanse your hands and purify your heart before God. We cannot be double minded and expect to enter into the Kingdom of God. We cannot go against His word because mankind (in its evil state) has made laws approving sin. Sin is still sin no matter how pretty you make it and wrap it up in a bow. It’s heart check time. Are you submitting yourself to God? Are you resisting the devil or going along with the crowd? It’s more important than ever to choose which side of the fence you are on.
