All week God has sent be little reminders that I’m not alone. He knows my love for birds. I took the dogs out one day and we all three watched as birds filled this tree and then almost hopped to the bigger tree in our backyard. Gracie went over and stretched her long body up trying to get closer. One day in my room a bird was on my air conditioner. I think she was looking to build a nest. I stood just amazed watching her. This morning I was in the kitchen and the most beautiful starling landed on the window-sill. I had never seen one so close. I could see the little white speckles. She was so beautiful and had nest building material in her mouth. I have not even been able to buy birdseed yet. But God. He was still bringing them close for me to see.
We got my mom moved in, but we have stuff everywhere (I had not yet unpacked all of my stuff or the bathroom). I had hung many pictures because my brother was still painting. My mom was wore out and I have not been feeling well. I ask her what she wanted for dinner. I want food, food like baked steak, mash potatoes and gravy, corn with a roll and lemon margarine pie. Hmmmm. I called Cheryl’s Country Diner and they were open. I was able to order her exactly what she wanted!
Why am I telling you this? She was tired and weary. God not only provided her nourishment but gave her exactly what she said she’d like to have. He is showing me the birds that He knows I love to watch. He doesn’t give us just what we need but also some of the things we want. He often gives us things we forgot we loved, like my birds. God’s children are the richest people on earth. Not because of what is in the bank but our riches are found in the glory by Christ Jesus. We are blessed beyond measure. I had so many financial things weighing in my mind, but today God started opening doors and showing me I had not been forgotten.
