Names of God: Jehovah-Jirah

We first see Jehovah-Jirah after Abraham is provided with a sacrifice in place of his only son Isaac. As I studied this, what struck me most was Abraham’s complete obedience to God. He had just ask him to sacrifice his only son, the son God had promised him and now He was taking him back. When Isaac ask his dad in Genesis 22:7-8 where the lamb was [to sacrifice], Abraham told him God would provide. And so He did. What faith. What obedience.

Tony Evans says in The Power of God’s Names, “Trials are adverse circumstances that God introduces or allows in order to identify where we are spiritually and to prepare us for where He wants us to go.” I’ve chewed on that all afternoon and wanted to share it with you. Are you in need? Look to Jehovah-Jireh to provide that need, but seek Him to see if He is preparing you for something through it! He may be using your current situation as stepping stones to get you where He is taking you. 💛 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
