This verse makes my heart sad because I see so much of it in the time in which we are living. People claim the title of Christian, but their actions are far from it. I was one of those people for a long time and I am thankful fir the transforming grace of God. I am also thankful for that same grace when I make mistakes now. The Holy Spirit is so loving to convict and correct so that I don’t continue in my mess. If you aren’t experiencing that correction in life you may need to do a heart check because none of us have arrived to perfection on this side of heaven. You can’t have one hand on the devil and the things of the world and the other raised in praise. That comes from experience and the heart. 💛 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
“7 [Ye] hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men.” ~ Matthew 15:7-9
