That first verse hit hard this morning. “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Be careful for nothing really caught my attention this morning. I heard my Father whisper, oh daughter, why do you worry and toil so? I felt the tears starting to well up in my eyes. This verse says in EVERYTHING, not somethings, to make our request known to God. It also says by prayer and supplication. Supplication is the action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly. We are to do this with thanksgiving in our hearts. The next verse tells us the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. No matter the situation, there is a peace that passes all understanding that will fill us up.
