I always hear people say, “Life and death are in the power of the tongue.” The Scripture in fact says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…” God’s Word puts “death” first. Why is that so important? I meditated over this for a long time this morning. The positioning of that word matters, because our words matter. So often we speak death into our situations. It doesn’t have to be a bodily death, you can speak death over your finances, your marriage, into the lives of your children. You can also accept it through someone else speaking it into or over your spouse or your children, your family, your job, your health. Wow. Where are you allowing death to be spoken into your life? Where are you personally speaking it unconsciously? “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Speak life today. Speak it over your spouse, your marriage, your finances, your children, your family, your job, speak it into every area of your life. Listen closely to the words you hear AND receive and when you hear death stop them and don’t be afraid to reject them. Call them out and say, I speak life over whatever it is and I declare and decree and then give a life Scripture to back it up! We’ve got to start speaking life my friends.
