When I was younger I heard a preacher say the devil knows the Bible better than most Christians. Today’s passage caused me to reflect on that. The devil and his demons actually believe in God and tremble at the mention of His name. That’s why when we pray against them we use the name of Jesus. That’s why we invite the Holy Spirit into our prayer and Bible time. I even usher Him in each morning as I pray and ask for His presence throughout the day. The devil also knows how to twist the Word. He will do this for self condemnation and just to pervert your insight as you read. We must pray for wisdom in this area so that we recognize when he is twisting the Word of God. Prayer is our weapon of defense against the enemies attacks. God’s Word, is our road map to navigate through life and the enemy’s attacks. This is another reason why renewing our mind is so important, we should be doing this daily. The enemy is a skilled liar, a master in deceit. We must be prayed up and have renewed minds to battle him effectively. First thing in the morning is a great time to have quite moments with God that set the tone for the day, renew your mind, and equip you for the battle at hand.
