You can not serve God and man. I sat and thought on this for some time. I’ve seen people once close to God fall off. The things of the world start to consume them. Money, drugs, other people… there is always something vying for their attention. Once it gets that attention, it presses in hard to become first in their life. It is so difficult as a fellow brother or sister in Christ to watch them slide down that slippery slop. I was thinking about how very important it is to stay prayed up and read up. The devil is out to steal souls by any means possible. We must put on our armor daily, just as if we were putting on our clothes. God has instructed us how to protect ourselves. If only we would listen… if only we would take heed to what He says and protect ourselves as He instructs. He can pull us back from the brink of destruction, but it requires a true heart transformation and it requires putting Him above all else. How is your heart posture? Who are you putting first?
