Nourishment for Your Soul and Mind: July 19, 2023

One year ago today, I almost bled to death. I had been getting weaker and weaker as I literally stumbled through our home for days. I was so weak I would get out of the shower and lay in the floor and cry until I had enough strength to make it into our bedroom, just a short distance away. My Dr. ordered bloodwork thinking my sugar was the cause of it all. We were still in line at the pharmacy for medicine for dizziness when she called and told me to get to the hospital immediately for a blood transfusion. My hemoglobin had dropped to a dangerously low level. I would spend a week in the hospital with no answers. I was released and readmitted the next day when my blood pressure dropped. I was still bleeding. They put a scope up me and down me and found no reason for the blood loss. They gave me at least 3 iron transfusions for the second week I was admitted. I was released with a plan to continue iron while my numbers were only slightly improving and then the bleeding just stopped.

The surgeon told me he could find no reason for the bleeding and to return to the ER if it started again. The hematologist followed me for 3 months and released me as my numbers improved. I spent close to 3 months off of work and 6 months battling extreme fatigue as my body recovered. My numbers continued to improve and baffle my care team. There was no reason they could find for the bleeding or why it suddenly stopped. I know it was a miracle from my Father above. We had started prayer chains as soon as we knew about the bleeding. Brothers and sisters interceded for me from all over the world. The devil thought he had me, but God said it’s not her time. Daughter, you have work yet to do! I have absolutely no doubt a miracle was preformed in my body. The blood of Jesus restored my blood anew!

Friends, I don’t know what you are facing but I know a God who does. He is still in the miracle business. The enemy came at me hard through this entire last year, but God sustained me.
