Today’s stop on putting on the armor of God, brings us to our loins girt about with truth and having in the breastplate of righteousness. These are part of the foundation that our armor builds on and each is necessary in fighting the spiritual warfare we all will engage in, now so more than ever.
Girt is “fastening a belt or band around the waist, signifying preparation, readiness, and strength.” “Girding up the loins” literally means to gather up the ends of a long robe under a belt or sash to facilitate physical activity and movement. I found thst second definition interesting. We girt the truth in preparation for physical activity and movement. The spirit realm is very active right now. It is manifesting its self into the physical. I see it all the time as I’m watching the skies. God will prepare and equip us for this battle but we must be militant ready and this piece of armor is key.
The breastplate of righteousness is virtuous living. How do we do this? Through the blood of Jesus. We cannot live righteously on our own for there is none righteous no not one (Romans 3:10). We are made righteous in God through Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20-21).
Both pieces of today’s armor must be put on daily. These key pieces involve a close relationship with God to be applied for a defense that can’t be breached. It’s time for a self check. Are you applying this armor daily? How is your relationship with God? Seek Him today and make sure these two pieces of armor are secure. 🦅 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
