I was watching a crime video on YouTube this evening and the husband and wife and both of her parents were on meth. It was sad to watch this entire tragedy unfold. The husband, completely out of his mind on meth killed and dismembered his wife’s mom and dad. The wife barely got out with her life. The husband ran, wrecked their vehicle and hijacked another. When the police finally captured him, he was talking incoherently. He would go back and forth between the murders he knew he had committed, including the attempted murder of his wife, and years earlier when they had lost custody of their children due to drug use.
I sat almost dumbfounded as I watched this man in this drug induced state. Dear God. This is what You rescued me from. No, I have never did meth. However my ex-husband did. I remember him coming in late nights with this blank look in his eyes. Scratching all over his body. Kicking me and April in his sleep until we’d get up and go sleep in my office. I recalled 3 vivid detailed dreams God had given me of my death, him killing me. In the dream, I’d already left him and God clearly said if he comes back he will kill you. I got a restraining order, a divorce, and started my healing journey. Honestly, I’m still healing in some ways.
As I watched this man in the police station and as I listened to the wife tell the police how she watched her mom’s soul leave her body, I was so thankful for God’s hand of protection over me and my momma. Our story was not like theirs in that we didn’t participate in the drug activity, but had it not been for God’s protection the enemy could have very well taken our lives.
Meth completely changes a person’s personality and if they tell you it doesn’t they are lying. They are unpredictable and dangerous. Thank You Jesus for rescuing me from a situation I never should have been in. Thank You for Your grace and mercy. Thank You that I got out and that I’m a living testimony for You. Glory hallelujah, I thank You and give You the highest praise. You do not have to stay in an abusive relationship. You can get out! 🦅 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal #YouCanGetOut
