It is so important to not just believe everything you hear, but study it out. It is also important to ask God for understanding as you read His Word so that He will give you His wisdom to unlock the hidden treasures within it. Don’t just rely on the knowledge of others, there are too many people being led astray with doctrines and Scriptures that look or sound similar, but are different when you get to the heart of it. 2 Timothy 2:16 tells us to, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” God’s Word not only encourages us to study, it directs us to it so that we might fight ourselves approved by God and rightly divide His Word. Studying out what you’ve heard, reading and studying God’s Word isn’t something you should do when you have time, it’s something God’s Word tells us to do!
