God is the very essence of love. You cannot harbor hate or ill will in your heart toward others and love God at the same time. I was reading the verses that proceeded this morning’s Scripture and they speak of loving one another because God is love and verse 7 tells us “every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God (8). He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” God gave His only son while each of us were yet in sin, before we were ever even born, so that we could live through Him; thus manifesting His love toward us. I chewed on that this morning. We have to forgive with the love of Jesus, even when it hurts. When we forgive, He heals those wounds like a balm that words cannot even explain. His love literally begins to take those gapping wounds of unforgiveness and starts to pull them close as you bring them to Him, but you have to bring them to Him and allow Him to soften your heart. Start to pray for the person or people who did you wrong. You do this not so that they will feel the Lord’s wrath, but because you were also once a lost sinner so in need of His grace and mercy. When you do this, watch Him start to heal those wounds up like the masterful surgeon He is. Forgiveness is not really all about them, it is necessary in keeping your heart pure before Him. 💛 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” ~ 1 John 4:9
