Nourishment for Your Soul and Mind: April 22, 2022

The enemy attacks us at the point of our thought and the very second we enter that thought we have opened the door and invited him in for trouble. This morning’s verse says to cast down these imaginations, cast them from your thoughts the second they enter your mind and replace them with thoughts of God! What did Jesus do when the devil tempted Him on the Mount? He quoted the Word of God! Quote the Word when the enemy gets in your head. Tell him he is a liar and stand firm on the promises of God. This morning’s verse goes on to say, “bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” Rein in those thoughts! Bring them into the captivity of the obedience of Christ. Chances are pretty good that for many the enemy will attack in this area a lot if he knows it is an area of weakness, lean into God. Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom to recognize these attacks. Keep spiritual verses ready and be armed for the attacks, you can keep them on your phone or on index cards, be prepared! As soon as those thoughts start (anything that causes self doubt, ill will toward others, self hate, pride, unforgiveness, jealousy, addiction, suicidal thoughts, anything that doesn’t exalt God, etc.), cast them out of your mind and pray! Bring those thoughts into captivity and replace them with Godly thoughts, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” ~ Philippians 4:8 Watch the peace in your life increase as you do this! 💛 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” ~ 2 Corinthians 10:5
