The Lord put this verse in my spirit last night. I read it in several different versions of the Bible and mediated over it as I thought about the time in which we are living. I thought about God’s Word warning us to be vigilant because our adversary the devil seeks to devour us (1 Peter 5:8). We have to be active in what we have read and learned, because the enemy is constantly looking for ways to cause a rift between us and our Father. It starts with a missed prayer, maybe a missed study, and it grows. Before you know it, you have drifted further than you care to admit. It’s only when something life altering happens that grabs our attention so many find themselves crying out to God and coming back. Today’s verse serves as a reminder to give heed to the things we’ve heard before we hit those rough patches. Give heed to those things we’ve heard so that we don’t slip. Renew your mind daily with those very things because they are critical to your tomorrow and what the enemy is going to try to take away. Don’t let them slip away. Take heed of those things we have heard, take inventory of them in your mind… don’t allow them to slip away. 💛 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
“Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.” ~ Hebrews 2:1
