I was watching the horses go by me today from a carriage ride and noticed the eye gates on the horses. I thought how often we have need eye gates as humans. You may think that sounds silly, but does it? We need to protect our eyes from the things in this world that can draw us into evil. The eyes are important and the enemy knows it! He uses the eyes to lure many into sin, he uses the eyes to create nightmares that haunt others for years. Yes, he uses the eyes. Today’s passage says to look straight before thee. The enemy wants you to look back, your not going that way. Don’t do it. Guard your eyes in what you watch on tv, what you look at online. Man, those eye gates, they matter. God has really been putting in my spirit just what matters. This one, it is huge. The enemy attacks so many through their eyes. We may not be able to wear eye gates like a horse, but we can put spiritual blinders in place and ask the Holy Spirit to quicken us when we need to turn away.
