Meek is “Mild of temper; soft; gentle; not easily provoked or irritated; yielding; given to forbearance under injuries. Appropriately, humble, in an evangelical sense; submissive to the divine will; not proud, self-sufficient or refractory; not peevish and apt to complain of divine dispensations.” People, in general, are not encouraged to be meek in today’s society; but God’s children are set apart, different, a peculiar people. We are not called to be like the world, but to walk as Jesus walked and to do so humbly. This passage says the meek delight themselves in the abundance of peace. As I read that, I could actually picture and feel that peace. The peace of the Lord is not like the peace of the world and once you’ve experienced it you won’t want to go back into the world’s chaos. It’s precious and a calm like to other and will carry you even through the midst of a storm. The world can’t do that. Do you want such peace? It can be found through Jesus Christ and the repentance of your sins. The peace you will find is worth a humble life in His presence and being His soldier in the battlefield of this world. 💛 ~ Chelle, #f8ithgal
