God is Jehovah-Jireh, our provider! Abraham’s faith was so strong, he took his son and was willing to give him to God as a sacrifice. He told his son that God would provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering (verse 8). Abraham went all the way to stretching his hand up with the knife before the Angel of the Lord stopped him. He lifted his eyes and there the Lord provided a ram caught in the thicket for the sacrifice.
God is an on-time God. He doesn’t tend to do things early, He is never late, and He is always on-time. That may make some of us squirm as we wait for a word or something we so desperately need, but when God is on it there is no need to worry. He knows what we need before we do. He knows what we want as well, but He sees beyond what we can and knows if that want will help or hurt our future. We can trust if there is something we “think” is delayed, God is waiting for His perfect timing.
